Record-breaking day at Gibson

NINE records were broken at press time last night at the 31st staging of the Gibson Relays at the National Stadium in Kingston.

The records to fall prior to the finals of the 4×200 and 4×400 metres were the Clubs and Institutions 4×100 metres for men and women; the 4×100 metres for Boys Classes One, Two, Three and Four; the Girls Under-12 prep 4×100 metres; the Boys Under-10 prep 4×60 and the Men’s Open long jump.
If no more records were broken, the incentive package of $250,000 provided by Pepsi-Cola through its Gatorade brand, would be shared nine ways, with each team pocketing J$27,777.
