  1. Cher Says:

Of the 3 athletes i believe that Bolt is the best, for him not to execute the race properly yet go so fast really tells you something. 2nd i would go with Asafa, Leading Tyson up to 80M at the 200& World Chapionships, tell why i would put him second. It was confidence which got the better of Asafa. Tyson is a great athlete not to mention how good a competitor. she will definately give both men a run of the lifetime.

  2. Vaughn Says:

Mi no care wey peeple have fi sey, First wud be Asafa, Jusd because Bolt bruk di record wah day ya dat no meen sey im a go win. From im bruk di record, Asafa has never got the chance, not even a tryaz, fi sey who a di fastest man in the world. The time wen im di run wid Usain at the Nat’l Stadium was NOT a showdown, it was jus to qualify.Look on the time they both ran(9.85/ 9.97)U call that show down, if dem di a run memeba mi tell u! Asafa has not yet ran that was jus the first stage watch him at Beijing. Then of course Usain wud take the second. Then gay would come third, if im can mek it to the finish line ha ha ha ha.

  3. Sharon Says:

It does not matter if either Asafa or Usain comes first or second to me i just want to bigup both of my favorite boys and remember all you JAMAICANS who tends ever so often to drop the star of any of our althetics show who does’nt rise up to our expectation.Remember Asafa is not a has been he is still here.Let us not push him out of Jamaica like we do Merlene Ottey and some others i could mention.

  4. Colton Says:

i don’t care if Jamaicans think Bolt or Powell will win. Though they are fast and will both receive a medal, Gay will bring home the gold. At the U.S. trials Gay ran a wind-aided 9.68(faster than Bolt or Powell has ever run).He pulled a hamstring in the 200m at the trials but that shouldn’t slow him down. Gay has beaten Powell before, and I predict a repeat. 1)Gay 2)Bolt 3)Powell

p.s. watch the race and you’ll see

  5. underberg Says:

    To Colton:

Powell runs 8.78 in Beijing, Bolt runs 9.77….

Patton and Gay =helpt by the wind in Eugene…. and gone with the wind in Beijing

  6. Dresonic Says:

If I may, with the Olympics being so close tings are heating up, literally CHINA IF BLAZING LIKE CRAZY. It is a very thin line between gold, silver and bronze at the Olympics. The favorites of course being Powell, Bolt and Tyson. I will make my prediction after the semi-finals because right now its hard to call. Still all in all I want Bolt to take the 200 and Powell the 100 and I know you didn’t hear me say Tyson in anything. THANKS COME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! J.A. FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Kurt Says:

Dresonic, mi cudn’t mek up mi mind how mi want the spoils to share up but now mi tink mi agree wid u; mi will jus add that the 100 shud be a 1-2.

  8. LEONARD"BIRDY"WALSH Says:

  11. Da Boss' Wife Says:

Asafa’s got this one in a bag. The 200m is Bolt’s race. 2008 is Jamaica’s year for victory. U guys will see that in 15 days. Just watch.
Jamaica to flippin worl. Go an mek us proud!!!! Big up yuh self Shelly Ann Fraser!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jus watch out fi all di races wid di Jamaicans, we comin HARD!!!

  12. Chris Butler Says:

As a former student of Calabar High School(need I say more!!) I have learnt to appreciate great athletes of the sport. I am extremely proud of our Jamaican squad. As expected this should be one of their greatest olympic!! The overwhelming success by all our athletes is a symbolic testimony that Jamaica has been and still is one of the greatest track and field nation world wide. Just imagine if ALL our athletes were to represent Jamaica. U.S.A who? Oh to my K.C “old boy” (Birdy) correction !CBar leads the way.

  13. Ronnie G Says:

They are all great competitors but as for the big races both Usain and Tyson have the mental edge over Asafa but I know that he’s getting there mentally by Beijing comes around in a couple of days. With all factors being equal I think the race will go as follows:

Gold-Asafa, Silver-Usain, Bronze-Tyson and 4th-Derrick Atkins, 5th-Michael Frater etc.. lolo that enough prediction. It would be even better if Tyson don’t get a medal at all.

I do have great hopes for both sprint relays…Gold in both…this is JAMAICA’S year.
Given the my girl Veronica a chance in the 100m and that’s definitely another Gold for the books..because she’s running incredibly well over the other girls and she’s more HUNGRY than the other girls. I can put my money on her to get a medal, even when all else fail.

  14. Happy Team Says:

Jamaica will take the first and second place in the male 100 meters. Wi ago tek home 12 medals…..…We can do it!!!

But a wha coach Stephen Francis a gwaan wid? Him must work wid the program…Dahlia Harris TVJ commentary stated dat Francis was elsewhere in China and not with the Team.

I have been reliably informed that he has been accredited as a personal coach and has full access to the camp and his athletes if he so wants. He also can access the training grounds at the Olympics. So why is he not there to settle the MVP athletes???????

  15. Chris Butler Says:

The anticipation of the upcoming duel between Bolt & Powell and oh yes what’s his name… Tyson Gay have propelled Jamaica to the foreground of Olympic buzz the past weeks. I have been an avid fan of olympics since 84 (Raymond Stewart era) and it is no doubt this olympic Jamaican team seems to be the most formidable group to compete. A team of 51 comprise of sprinters of whom most are in the top 10 rankings in thier respective events(Quite impressive!!)Years ago we had just a few athletes to rely on but we now have the luxery of balance. I hope we will not be subjected to biased coverage by the media as was always the case over the years. The protocal should be interview the gold medal winner even if the athlete was not from the U.S As for Asafa, he needs to be reminded that most times the difference between wining and losing is confidence.Usain and Tyson has it, and he needs to acquire it, he is an excellent sprinter but he needs to stop glancing around the last 10 meters of his race.As for our female sprinters Wow.. they are their only competetors!!! Jamaica will be proud during and after this olympics. Records were meant to be broken….By Jamaican athletes too.

  16. stewy Says:

Ok these are 3 talented athletes…. We all know that Usain Bolt is a very good 200m runner so is Tyson Gay, but one might say that they may b strong enough to defeat Asafa at the Olympics but this is not the case. If asafa runs his race there is no way that any of those 2 athlete can beat him. If Asafa gets the killer start that we know that he is capable of there is no doubt that he will be victorious… So the talking who is better…is not arguable because Asafa is hands down better than the other 2 athletes… we know that Usain is a Jamaican but he a way better 200m rummer than he is a 100m… So the Olympics 100m final will prove what i am talking about… I will say this however that if Usain and Asafa is up at the same time it will b a fight to the finish line… where hopefully Asafa will come out successful….. I predict a 9.79/9.78 to win the final… And let us all pray that Jamaica gets the quinella where Asafa is in front of Usain….. And Usain will win the 200m in a record time… That is my hope 4 the male sprint at the Olympics this year….

  17. kareem Says:

I THINK ASAFA WILL LOWER THE WORLD RECORD TO 9.65\9.68 ARE LOWER. THIS YEAR IS FOR JAMAICA AND WE WILL CELEBRATE THE VICTORY HERE IN CANADA

  18. opal Says:

as a Jamaican living in the u.s,i must say wid all di hype bout gay,i know that Asafa,Bolt can beat him any day, because we are jamaican,an when we want something we pull out all stops.go JAMAICA,WE COME FRIST.

  19. zach (FLEXX) Says:

all rijgt! here is the truth. I am an american married to a jamaican ooman. I luv ja and all the national pride that goes along with it. however lets be real!I believe GAY will win, not because I am an american and I want my country to win, but because he is faster.look at the stats. But if anyone else should win go JAMAICA, BIG UP!!

  20. frank Says:

I think that Tyson Gay is taking the gold medal then Asafa but im not sure if bolt is going to get a medal he might get to over confident and loose. Both Gay and Asafa are cool

  21. Atonnette Says:

The Jamaicans will win first and second, then Gay behind. A fi wi year dis! Big up from Canada.

  22. Dresonic Says:

Its getting closer to that time when we Jamaicans will be glued to the “Tel Lie Vision” but when BOLT and ASAFA bruk di record again mi sure dat vision cyaaaaaa tell no lie…lol….Stay tune my people the time is near!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. audrey Says:

I would like Asafa to win, because a win is now due to him. Because of nerves he had mess up in the past. But if he is second and Usain is first i will still be happy. I wish tyson do not even receive a medal. It is time now for other country to dominate the track and field events, and why not the jamaicans? The americans will finally meet their match. The jamaicans all the way!!!

  24. frank Says:

it was time for asafa to win damn that tyson gay he took up a spot that many american people would have definately been proud to have. i so embarrased and ask myself if tyson even tried what the hell is a 10 second 100 meter sounds like a high school record to me
